What a memorable moment? a moment which has filled us all Omanis & Residents with a sense of triumph and joy. This historical moment brings to mind our deep seated maritime heritage, for Oman is known for its expertise in navigation and maritime activities for many centuries.

Ridding the waves and crossing the sea all over Asia & Africa our ancestors had exhibited brighter pages in history. Undoubtedly they were advocates of peaceful coexistence and cultural dialogues.

Watching the Jewel of Muscat docks at the Marina Keppel Bay on July 3, 2010
In its marriage procession was indeed a moment of ambivalent emotions.

It was a moment of pride because of his Majesty Sultan Qaboos vision and gentle touch in orchestrating the cultural ties with Singapore & its people .

It is beyond doubt that Oman & the Omanis will be versatile tales narrated from generation to generation among the people of Singapore.

Oman as a peace loving country and a touch of enlightenment will always be present in the mind of the visitors of Singapore while they are mesmerized by the beauty and the story of our precious gifted replica ?At the museum on which the jewel of Muscat will be landing as the center of attraction .

It was a moment of overwhelming joy to see the captain & his team end up their voyage successfully and live up to the expectation of his Majesty all the people Oman.

The saga of Jewel made history repeat itself. From the shore of Sultan Qaboos port on Feb 17 to the various ports in India .Srilanka, Malaysia and eventually Singapore the last destination of the jewel of Muscat voyage was a drama of narrating the struggle of man with nature . It is a real illustration of perseverance ,tolerance and sense of achievements.

Whether it is surviving the vengeance of the sea, the scarcity of food and water or being isolated in the middle of the sea dealing with the uncertain tomorrow. They were all moments of bravery and will power.

Physically, far away from home yet it is a voyage of sacrificing for home. It is an alienation which was brushed away thought the spirit of hope. It is delivering the gift of His Majesty to the people of Singapore.

It is a mixture of feelings and various ways of dealing with the moment of boredom & despair
Undoubtedly the support and undeterred attention with which the government embraced the project was a catalyst of success. It was a driving force for the champions of the Jewel of Muscat to reach the Singaporean waters and hand the gift as planned.

Well deserved captain our heartfelt congratulation for you, the team, Oman ,and Singaporean government and its people . A big round of applause for the officials at the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of information and all those who contributed to the success of the jewel’s mission.

Thanks a millions for our far sighted leader His Majesty the Sultan and his peace loving advocacy and the cultural bridges, which he stretches around the globe.
After all we have what it takes to be proud of being Omanis.
